The iOS app, “moa — coding agent”, is a client for a moa server that you run yourself.
What you need
A running moa server that your phone can reach over HTTPS, for example through Tailscale. If you don’t have one yet, start with the quick start.
Pair the app
- Open moa in a browser.
- Go to Settings → Devices → Pair a device.
- In the app, scan the code or paste it.
You only do this once. You can revoke the device later from Settings on your server.
If something doesn’t work
- Pairing needs HTTPS. When pairing remotely, the server must terminate TLS itself or behind a trusted proxy; being on Tailscale alone does not make a plain HTTP request secure. See Web UI → Security.
- Voice input does nothing. It needs
moa --login openai-transcribe(or a plainOPENAI_API_KEY) on the server. See Troubleshooting.
